Solid Waste Removal Guidelines
The following guidelines are set forth by In The Can LLC.
In The Can LLC disposes of all solid waste collected in the City of Goodland and within Sherman County at the Sherman County Transfer Station and is bound to the guidelines set by the Sherman County Commissioners for disposal at the Transfer Station. These guidelines are subject to change at the discretion of In The Can LLC and/or Sherman County. Items not allowed in the Trash Dumpsters and Rollouts may be eligible for Special Pickup at the discretion of In The Can LLC. Special Pickups may be subject to an additional fee. Contact In The Can LLC for availability, scheduling, and rates.
The following items may be placed in the Trash Dumpsters and Rollouts for regular weekly pickup.
– Paper Products
– Food Waste
– Plastic Products
– Clothing
– Textiles (Bed Sheets, Blankets, Rugs, Curtains)
– Cardboard Products
– Styrofoam Packaging Material
These items must not contain or be attached to any type of wood or metal.
All items placed in the Trash Dumpsters/Rollouts must be placed in plastic bags and the bags must be fastened closed.
All items place in the Trash Dumpsters/Rollouts must fit completely inside the container. The container lids must be completely closed. No items should extend above the top edge or side of the container. If the container is full, Residential: proceed to the next closest Trash Dumpster available (NOT any yellow YARD WASTE ONLY dumpsters) or contact In The Can LLC for an extra pickup, Commercial: please contact In The Can LLC to talk about increasing service or for an extra pickup.
Please keep the container lids closed at all times.
Do not pile items on or above the lids. No items shall be placed next to, besides, or behind the containers. This is littering, Items not in the dumpster/rollout will not be picked up.
Trash rollouts (Blue) will be emptied every Wednesday. Rollouts must be placed on the curb before 7 AM Wednesday. Lids must be closed and facing the street. Push past any vehicles parked street side. Rollouts should be at least 3′ from any other objects (mailboxes, fences, cars, other rollouts). *Please note, if a holiday falls on a Wednesday, we will pick up rollouts the next day.
The following items may NOT be placed in the Trash Dumpsters and Rollouts.

Wood of any kind is NOT allowed
– Lumber Scraps
– Furniture
– Chairs, couches, tables, shelves, cabinets, desks, etc.
Electronics of any kind are NOT allowed
– Televisions, computers, printers, DVD players, gaming consoles, etc.
Masonry of any kind is NOT allowed
– Bricks, blocks, rubble, mortar, concrete, etc.
Metal of any kind is NOT allowed
– Folding chairs, engine parts, hydraulic hoses, children’s toys, etc.
Yard Waste
-Lawn clipping, weeds, corn husks, tumbleweeds, plants, etc.
Tree Limbs/Branches
Appliances of any kind are NOT allowed
– Home appliances, commercial appliances, lamps, vacuums, microwaves, etc.
Other items NOT allowed
– Mattresses
– Hot Ashes
– Insulation
– Paint
– Carpet
– Sheet Rock
– Shingles
– Tires
– Batteries
– Dead Animals
